The same seams cover the fasteners that hold each panel to the structure. Concealed fasteners are the difference between standing seam and panels screwed through their face. We install the standing-seam version, so that is the system this page describes.

Whether metal suits your roof starts with the building, not with the panels. We examine the slope, the framing and the condition of the deck beneath your covering. Those answers usually settle whether standing seam is worth pricing.
The deck under the panels
Decking is the layer of boards beneath the roof covering, and rot there is the most common change order. So we look at it before we talk about metal. Existing layers matter too, because keeping or removing them changes the job.

Flashing, seams and where leaks start
